Why Every Creative Business Needs a Virtual Assistant

Being a creative entrepreneur—whether you're a tattooist, artist, maker, or designer—means your time is constantly pulled in a hundred directions. Between booking appointments, replying to emails and DMs, posting on social media, and keeping up with admin, your actual creative work often ends up taking a back seat.

That’s where a Virtual Assistant (VA) comes in. And not just any VA—one who gets your world.

🎨 What Can a VA Do for a Creative Business?

A good VA can handle the behind-the-scenes chaos so you don’t have to. Here are a few tasks they can take off your plate:

Inbox management – no more missed client enquiries.

Diary & booking system setup – streamlined, professional, and stress-free.

Social media content creation – consistent, on-brand posts that actually convert.

Client onboarding – send contracts, forms, and reminders automatically.

General admin – file organization, research, order management, and more.

🖤 Why It Matters

When your energy is drained by admin, your creativity suffers. A VA gives you back your time and mental space so you can focus on the art—and the clients—you love most.

The Part of Me I’ve Kept in the Shadows

May 17th marks International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia & Biphobia — a day that’s all about visibility, solidarity, and standing up against hate, shame, and silence. And this year, it means more to me than ever.

Because for the first time, I’m choosing to speak openly about something I’ve carried quietly for a long time.

I’m bisexual.

Even writing those words here feels huge. Because while I’ve built my business — AltEdge VA — around being unapologetically me, this part of my identity has always been the one I’ve kept tucked away. Not because I’m ashamed of it, but because I’ve felt unsure where I belong.

I’ve often felt like a bit of a fraud in queer spaces — like I didn’t "look" the part, or like my queerness wasn’t visible enough to count. I've heard the subtle (and not so subtle) judgements, had my identity questioned, dismissed, or explained away. And that made me shrink back, telling myself it was easier to stay quiet.

But silence doesn't protect us — it isolates us. And more than that, it allows the world to keep telling us who we should be, what we should look like, or how we should love.

The truth is: queerness doesn’t follow rules. It doesn’t have one look, one voice, or one lifestyle. And bisexuality is real — regardless of who I’m in a relationship with, what I wear, or how “visible” it appears from the outside.

So I’m done hiding this part of myself.

I’ve always believed in building a business that reflects who I am. AltEdge VA was created for bold, creative, alternative brands that don't fit neatly into boxes — and neither do I. I work with people who challenge norms, who embrace the weird and wonderful, who want to grow their businesses their way. And I’ve always encouraged others to show up fully and unapologetically in their work.

Now it’s time for me to walk that talk in every part of who I am.

This post isn’t about making a statement to be loud. It’s about making space — for myself, and for anyone else who has ever felt like their identity was too much, or not enough, or not quite "right." You don’t have to be loud to be valid. You just have to be you.

So today, I’m standing with the LGBTQIA+ community — especially those who, like me, have lived in the in-between. The ones who’ve felt pressure to shrink themselves to fit in. The ones who’ve doubted whether they even belong.

You do.

And I do, too.

Thank you for holding space for this.
If you’re someone building a brand that’s a little bit different — a little bit alternative, creative, or proudly offbeat — I’d love to connect. Let's create something true to you.
